Chemistry is the linchpin science, disciplined in its experimental approach and highly creative and imaginative in its thinking, and life enhancing in its impact. The contribution of Chemistry to our modern technological world ranges from the silicon wafers that drive your PC and the high-tech, high-spec materials used on the Space Shuttle, to the life-saving drugs that are an integral part of modern medicine. This wide diversity of Chemistry is reflected in the course and in the teaching within Chemistry at vaagdevi College.
TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT
The course is taught in an integrated manner through a combination of lectures, problem classes and laboratory work. Understanding of the lecture material is assessed by problems that are expanded upon in small group work. Chemistry comes to life in our newly refurbished teaching and laboratories where the student will experience the discovery and excitement of experimentation..the department offers Pg course as well.
