Department Faculty
Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences. It is concerned with the study of matter and energy on all scales from the sub-atomic to the size of the visible Universe. As a physics student at vaagdevi he/she will acquire an appreciation of the scope and impact of modern physics and the use of mathematics, computing and experimentation to solve real-world problems.the student will be taught core topics in physics and mathematics including atoms and quanta, light and matter and electricity and magnetism. The laboratory programme introduces a broad range of practical techniques.
TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT
In addition to lectures and small group tutorials we make extensive use of on-line computer-based learning materials for both delivery and assessment of modules. Our experimental laboratories are up-to-date and well equipped.
SYLLABUS
PAPER I) Mechanics, Waves and Oscillations. PAPER II) Thermodynamics and Optics. PAPER III) Electricity, Magnetism and Electronics. PAPER IV) Modern Physics.
SKILLS AND CAREERS
There is a considerable skills shortage in electronics which underpin the information and communications technology industries. Courses are developed with the advice of a panel comprising figures representing organisations that are concerned with trade and as per the kakathiyan university notification. A distinguishing feature of the course is the utilisation of both simulated and live industrial projects and case studies to enhance the learning environment.
